My work.
For my online portfolio, I have selected a few of my favorite projects. Each is the product of teamwork, careful planning, and a process that benefited from a bit of creative experimentation. If you are considering a design project, I would be happy to hear your goals and help you outline an innovative approach.
As for my background, after graduating from Wellesley College with a double major in Studio Art and American Studies, and following two years working in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I earned a Masters degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. From there, my career zigged and zagged, but always focused on work that had design at its core - especially those projects requiring management from start to finish. Once settled in Durham, I spent a decade in Duke University Health System’s Office of Creative Services working initially as a staff designer, then as art director, and finally as associate director.
In 2003, I took the entrepreneurial leap and opened Phase 5. I have been happily brainstorming with a wide range of clients ever since! - Lacey
